Clinician

Hello, my name is Spencer and I am so excited by the opportunity to get to work with you! My story in the field began after earning my bachelors degree in psychology from The University of New Hampshire in 2019, followed by the completion of my Masters in Social Work at Boston College’s School of Social Work in 2021. I have worked in a variety of settings since starting in the field, ranging from a youth mentoring program, to an emergency housing program, community based mental health work and one on one work with clients.

My priority in therapy is to honor and value the clinical relationship, while creating a safe space conducive to healing. I hope to help each individual I work with develop an understanding of their life story, one which they feel encapsulates their values and makes sense for them. I believe in a strengths based approach to therapy, one in which each individual is the expert of their story as we work together to discover a path forward. I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities including a narrative-based approach, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, DBT, among other modalities depending on your needs and interests. I believe strongly in the connection between the mind and body and am an advocate for holistic approaches to mental health care, including meditation and healing through movement.

I encourage feedback during my work with individuals and always value a collaborative relationship in therapy. I hope to create a safe and healing space for all the clients I work with, and look forward to developing relationships that honor the stories and histories of each of my clients. I look forward to working with you!
